CARS is committed to respecting the privacy of its users.

When sending information through the CARS website, users declare and guarantee that they have the power and capacity to do so.

Given the open nature of the Internet, CARS advises users not to submit confidential information online because it is not possible to ensure the appropriate security measures.

What data we collect and what we do with it.

Direct collection:

You do not need to provide any personal information to use the CARS website as a visitor. The personal data of users is collected only when subscribing to some of the available functionalities necessary for CARS to provide the information or to allow access to members, events, etc.

The data we collect for these purposes are as follows:

CARS will monitor all statistical information regarding the use of the website in an aggregated and anonymous way. The data used for this purpose does not contain personal identification data or private information.

This data will be processed in order to assess site usage patterns, improve service and increase user satisfaction. This information may be disclosed to third parties or publicly.

CARS uses cookies on its website in order to improve user browsing experience.

Cookies allow access to specific areas on the website, eliminating the need to introduce the same information several times.

Web beacons do not place information on user devices. Web beacons and cookies allow monitoring website activity.

Purposes and legal basis of the data:

CARS collects your contact information to provide you with information or to allow access to News, Articles, Events, etc.

CARS may also, if the data owner so authorizes, use the contact data in marketing campaigns or to send information relating to our services or to partners' services. In these situations, the data owner is always given the possibility to oppose the sending of subsequent information for purposes of direct marketing, selecting the corresponding field or sending an email to privacy.cars@autonoma.pt .

Data Recipients

The recipients are the Marketing or the Legal Department (in case of exercise of rights by the data owners).

Disclosure of data

CARS does not disclose collected personal data except as required by law or by the authorities.

Transfers to third countries

CARS does not transfer data to third countries.

What measures are taken to protect your data from unauthorized access, alteration or destruction?

CARS takes the necessary measures legally required to ensure the protection of your personal data.

The following technical and organizational measures, among others, have been implemented to ensure personal data confidentiality: physical security (through access control), logical separation of data, access passwords and access levels, firewalls and antivirus software. The data is stored encrypted.

Your rights

All personal data will be processed pursuant to terms laid down in Law No. 67/98 of 26 October, amended by Law 103/2015, of 24 August, and Regulation UE 2016/679 of the European Parliament and European Council. Personal data subjects have the right to free and unrestricted access to data, to confirm, rectify, cease data processing or erase data they have supplied, as well as to data portability and processing restriction in what concerns Data Subjects, as well as the right to oppose processing, and may be able to do so in writing, either personally in our facilities or via e-mail privacy.cars@autonoma.pt at any time and at no cost.

The Data Owner has the right to withdraw his or her consent at any time and at no cost and may be able to do so in writing, either in person in our facilities or via e-mail privacy.cars@autonoma.pt

The data Owner has the right to complain to the National Data Protection Commission or any other supervisory authority.

Reviews and changes

The date of creation of this Policy is 19 March 2018 – The General Regulation on Data Protection (GRDP) entered in force on 25 May 2018 in all EU Member-States (EU Official Journal L-119, of 4 May 2016), prevails all national laws and replaces the previous directive and the law on personal data protection.
CARS reserves the right to change its privacy policy at any time. We therefore recommend that you check our privacy policy regularly. CARS will send emails to registered users regarding changes to our privacy policy.
